Divergent (2014) --- "The Secret Life Of An American Teenager Joins The YA Dystopian World. Is It Good?"

Copyright
Plot Summary
In a futuristic Chicago, society is divided into 5 factions. Abnegation is selfless, Dauntless is brave, Erudite is intelligent, Candor is honest, and Amity is peaceful. When all teenagers reach the age of 16, they must choose to either stay in their faction of birth or transfer into another faction. Beatrice “Tris” Prior (Shailene Woodley) must make the decision: to stay with her family in a faction she feels she isn't right for or transfer into another faction and leave her family behind. What follows is a highly competitive initiation, where the newly renamed Tris must make some tough decisions, but she must also keep a secret that she was warned could mean death, while she juggles friends, initiation, and a newfound love interest. But there is a secret lying beneath everything that threatens to tear the city apart. (1)

Hello, Movie Buffs!
There is not much that can be said about this movie when it closely resembles The Hunger Games. However, this film is still good to see, as long as you have not read the books first. NOTE to self-don't read the books and then watch the film, pick a side; books or film.
This film has two of the most recent and popular actors, as well the long loved actress Kate Winslet. It is very similar to The Hunger Games, however, there are some differences such as the acting, the story, the romance, the conflict, and the cinematography. The camera focuses on the emotions of the characters which also emphasize what this film is about and then links it with the main storyline. This movie is for people of all ages.

Although this movie can be and will be compared to The Hunger Games it is still a great movie in its own right. Both book series were written beautifully by two amazing authors. Although both the films and the books have similar endings goals, the amount of emotion the characters display and the cinematography is substantially different.
All I ask is that if you are a Hunger Games fan that you keep an open mind when you watch this Divergent. In terms of buying Divergent it completely depends on what you think, and if you do buy it I can assure you that it is not a total waste, unless of course, you didn’t like the movie to start out with.

“We're like the Factionless now. We've left everything behind, but we found ourselves and each other. Tomorrow we may have to fight again, but for now, we'll ride the train to the end of the line. And then, we'll jump.”

– Beatrice ‘Tris’ Prior

Final Vote (my opinion)
Worth Seeing: 3.8 - 5 stars
Worth Buying: 3.8 - 5stars
